ÐÔÊӽ紫ý expands Canadian portfolio through new partnership with Algoma University

August 5, 2026

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý has today announced a new partnership between ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Digital Institute (OIDI) and , designed to support sustainable international growth and broaden access to Canadian higher education through an innovative transnational education (TNE) model.

The collaboration marks a further expansion of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s portfolio of education partnerships, combining Algoma University’s undergraduate expertise with ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Digital Institute’s capabilities in online learning, in-country teaching and international recruitment.

The partnership will launch an International Year One in Business, enabling students to begin their studies either online or through OIDI’s multinational Global Hub network before progressing to undergraduate study at Algoma University in Canada. The model has been designed to widen participation by providing students with a more flexible and accessible route into Canadian higher education, while maintaining academic quality and a clear progression to degree study.

Developed in alignment with Algoma University’s undergraduate standards, the International Year One curriculum will prepare students for entry into a range of business and economics-related degree programmes. By allowing students to begin their studies online or in-country before relocating, the model supports academic preparedness, student confidence and a smoother transition to university life in Canada.

For Algoma University, the partnership creates a scalable framework for sustainable international growth. Through OIDI’s online learning platform, multinational Global Hub network spanning 13 hubs across eight countries, and international recruitment expertise, the collaboration will help expand the university’s global reach while maintaining programme consistency and academic standards.

The partnership reflects ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s continued investment in innovative education models that broaden access to higher education while supporting institutions in achieving long-term international growth through flexible, high-quality delivery.

Gary Palmer, Managing Director, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Digital Institute, said:

“As institutions look for sustainable approaches to international growth, flexible transnational education models are becoming increasingly important. This partnership brings together Algoma University’s academic excellence and OIDI’s expertise in online learning, in-country teaching and international recruitment. Together, we are creating a scalable model that broadens access for students while helping institutions diversify recruitment and strengthen their global reach.”
